Dedicated. Passionate. Driven.
Meet our Directors
A few years ago, during an informal discussion, we began to reimagine our futures. As professional women, we considered what fulfilled careers would look like for us without having to compromise our identities and responsibilities as mothers, wives and stewards of exceptional families. We realized the need to not conform to the traditional job market but rather to craft our own employment future around our passions and the unique needs of our families.
At its core we knew that what we were building had to involve our shared interests including research and our desire to create impact and challenge systemic norms. TwoSixteen Research and Innovation Lab was conceived with this ethos in mind. As a collective, we endeavour to inject wisdom into government decision making through applied research initiatives that amplify the voices and perspectives of the human lives they represent.
Our inaugural social innovation project Legacy Creative Space challenges the concept of entrepreneurship beyond the competence of the sole individual to include wider community supports making the dream of self-employment and self-sufficiency accessible for those with special needs. The impact of such programs has implications beyond the individual lives it touches informing wider, related complex social concerns including poverty, unemployment, mental health and social services.
As we stand on the horizon of our journey as a research team, the opportunities afforded to us in these unprecedented times are endless. We look towards the future full of hope, equipped and empowered to question conventions, challenge norms, push boundaries and innovate futures full of imagined possibilities.
